Are You Worth It

There’s an old adage that says love can only be earned when you love yourself first. Why is it that this piece of wisdom has lived through the years? Mainly because there’s a lot of truth to it. As simplistic as it sounds, people will see you better when you learn to see yourself better as well. You work at loving and being loved, but what good is that when you don’t really think so highly about yourself? You can’t really expect others to pull you out of the rut without some effort from your end.

Right now, your goal is to see yourself worthy of the best things in life. There’s so much power that comes with self-love. To be able to do this, you need to accept the fact that your entire package is made up of strengths and weaknesses. This is who you are, and while there are still things you need to work at, you also have things you can be proud of. When you appreciate and love yourself, you honor your unique soul. You’ll see just how a little appreciation in oneself can change the way you see the world, and ultimately, how the people around will see you as well.

It feels good to know that there are people out there who actually care for you. But how can you truly love others when you don’t even appreciate the things that are unique to you? This isn’t the egotistical and self-centered kind of love. It’s far from that! The word in itself has a multitude of meanings. It’s a matter of knowing who you are and what you’re capable of. You have a clear view of your aspirations and you’re working your way towards achieving all your dreams because you know that you deserve it. Love can also mean knowing what your limitations are. You’ll meet people who’ll ask you for help, and as much as you want to accommodate their requests, you also have to keep a balance of the different aspects in your life.

Self-love also means taking care of yourself. When things get too rough, you know when to pull away and take a break. Stress can get to you, and when you can no longer think clearly, you also need time out to relax. You can never put other people ahead of you all of the time. While it’s nice to be obliging, you need to think about the repercussions constant working has on your body.

When people see how well you can take care of yourself, you can be that positive force that influences them to do the same. It’s always nice to see someone confident and comfortable with who they are. It’s time that you do the same as well. Love yourself and the life that you lead despite all the mistakes. Never regret anything that’s happened to you. Sure, you may have done something you’re not proud of, but so long as you learned from it, take it as an integral part of your growth process. Just know that you put importance on yourself, you do what is necessary to be happy so that you can also be a great example to others.
